owie

i am getting a sinus infection, for the second time in 2 weeks. owie!!!

i sent the letter yesterday. i also sent an email notification. no replies to the email. i now expect 1) no reply to anything or 2) a very late reply, like in a month or two. well, i did what i could.

i had to train in a new guy today. he is in fact the guy i saw being interviewed last week or whenever he was, and he does look like a blond mr. wright. he is married. his brother went to uw-madison and now lives in the cities, and is my age. it was kind of hard to train him, only because he is good at learning. when i trained ipod guy he had a hard time understanding shit. this guy is great. but, i felt bad because i had nothing to do for a while. i had a lot of conversations today about not having enough to do. i also like this guy because he appreciates my humor.

as my manager was introducing me, she said, "elizabeth is not what we'd call a senior member of the team, but she's right on the cusp." uh....huh? what a weird thing to say in front of me and in front of the person i was just about to start teaching. not like i don't appreciate its meaning, but why say it? "she's not exactly the best we have, but here you go, learn a lot!" she did say i was very knowledgeable and helpful, so that was nice.

my damn left sinus really hurts!!!

first of all, i'm in the middle of the weirdest cold ever (i just went to the doctor for fear i had pink eye). but luckily, i don't. what is it with me and thinking i have strange illnesses usually associated with children. remember the lice episode of 2000 anyone?

well, i wouldn't really expect an reply from tom quite yet. maybe he's just waiting for the actual letter to come....who knows?

it's good that you are enjoying your company at work. and as far as the senior member comment. it probably just reflects the fact that you've been there less than a year. you're more like a junior staff member. :)

Haha, the Lice Episode of 2000!!! Remember us harrassing Jason to inspect your head and him obstinately refusing? But I think he finally did and didn't he say (correctly) that it was not lice? I don't know.

Yeah, I could definitely see him waiting for the letter before he responds.

I agree with Sarah on the senior remark. I read it as a big compliment..."Wow! They think you're almost a SENIOR member!" I think of senior members of things being old white guys with crap loads of stock in the company. Or THE bosses. Ya know? Yeah.
