Back in the day

Back in the day I remember reading about Windows Longhorn...I and others always assumed this turned into Windows XP, but in fact, it's a new one called Windows Vista. Supposedly it's the next version after XP and is expected to come out "soon"--when is that? I don't know. I shall try to investigate more.
